July 2, 2013 , Windsor, Ontario -  Chrysler Canada today announced its 43rd consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth, representing the longest sales streak in the company’s history. June 2013 sales were 26,222 compared with 23,705 vehicles sold in June 2012, which represents an 11 per cent increase.

“2013 marks the best half-way point in the year for Chrysler Canada since 2000,” said Dave Buckingham, Chief Operating Officer, Chrysler Canada. ”With the record growth we are experiencing on the car side of our business, we’ve really rounded out our portfolio and established ourselves nicely in all vehicle segments.”

Passenger car sales at Chrysler Canada are up an incredible 46 per cent, compared with sales results from the same period, one year ago. June was a massive sales month for our mid-size sedans with 1,468 Chrysler 200 and 1,000 Dodge Avenger sold, compared with 1,192 and 315 sold in June of 2012. This represents a June record for Chrysler 200, and triples Dodge Avenger sales results from where they were, just one year ago. Further, these results solidify Chrysler Canada as the number one seller of mid-size cars in Canada.

Jeep also had a great month in Canada, led by a strong surge in sales of its most-awarded SUV ever, Jeep Grand Cherokee. June 2013 sales of 1,394 were up 78 per cent compared with 781 vehicles sold in the same month of 2012. This marks a June sales record for Jeep Grand Cherokee, which offers best-in class 4x4 fuel economy of 7.1L/100km (40MPG) highway thanks to the new 3.0L EcoDiesel V6. Jeep Grand Cherokee also offers best-in-class capability and towing up to 3,265 kg (7,200 lb).

The Windsor-built 2013 Chrysler Town & Country was recently awarded a coveted J.D. Power IQS award, where it was ranked highest for Initial Quality in the minivan segment. There were 902 sales of the popular minivan in June 2013, which is more than double the 446 vehicles sold in the same period, one year ago. These results mark a June sales record for the Chrysler Town & Country.

Momentum for Ram truck remains strong as evidenced by our consecutive monthly growth in sales. 7,176 Ram trucks were sold in June 2013, compared with 6,160 sold in June 2012. This marks an increase of 16 per cent as well as a June sales record for Ram – Canada’s longest lasting line of pickup trucks.
