Chrysler Canada’s Windsor Assembly Plant Employees Once Again Lead City’s Largest Toy Drive

December 6, 2012 , Windsor, Ontario -  For a 10th straight year, Chrysler Canada’s Windsor Assembly Plant employees participated in the city’s largest toy drive. Today, five Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans full of new toys valued at over $15,000 were donated to “Sparky’s Toy Drive,” to benefit local needy children with gifts during the holiday season.

Members of the Windsor Fire Department, including “Sparky the Fire Dog,” Salvation Army representatives and CAW members were on hand to help pick up thousands of toys outside the Windsor Assembly Plant. 2012 marks the Company’s biggest donation to date as well as its 10th anniversary of participation in support of “Sparky’s Toy Drive”.

“I am proud to lead such a generous and committed group of employees here at Windsor Assembly Plant,” said Dan Omahen, Plant Manager, Windsor Assembly, Chrysler Group LLC. “Christmas is sure to be a brighter place for several hundred local kids who may not have been so fortunate, if not for the substantial gifts donated here today.”

Over the past 10 years, Windsor Assembly Plant employees have donated more than 30 minivans full of toys valued at nearly $100,000 and helped roughly 30,000 children in need during this time of year. The toys will be distributed throughout December.
