Chrysler Canada: The Chrysler Foundation Honours the Late Minister of Finance, Jim Flaherty, With Donation to Special Olympics Canada
 

August 26, 2014 , Windsor, Ontario -  Special Olympics Canada is thrilled to accept a $25,000 donation from The Chrysler Foundation in honour of the late Jim Flaherty. Minister Flaherty, a passionate advocate for the Special Olympics movement, was also instrumental in leading the Canadian automotive industry through difficult financial times. The Chrysler Foundation would like to honour Minister Flaherty’s memory and his leadership by supporting Special Olympics Canada. The donation will provide funding for Special Olympics Team Canada and the educational components of its training programs in the lead up to the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles, California, to be held July 25 – August 2. Special Olympics Canada is honoured to receive this donation from The Chrysler Foundation in Minister Flaherty’s memory, ensuring his legacy of championing those with intellectual disabilities lives on.
