SRT Motorsports - RAM NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race Final - Iowa Speedway

July 13, 2012 , NEWTON, Iowa -  Parker Kligerman (No. 29 Reese Towpower RAM) Finished 10th
WHEN YOU DON’T UNLOAD OFF THE TRUCK LIKE YOU WANT TO IT MAKES IOWA SPEEDWAY EVEN MORE DIFFICULT: “Man, it make it for a long weekend. Everybody on this Reese Towpower RAM team never gave up. Doug (Randolph) and I had a heart to heart after practice to try and figure out what we needed to do to get the truck to run better. We talked about a lot of things and we threw everything that we had at the RAM. Sure enough we got into the race and were competitive. We weren’t a top-five truck, maybe a top-10. We had a mishap in the pits with one of the lapped down trucks and that tripped us from a seventh or eight-place finish. If you would have told me that we would get a 10th-place finish after practice I would have told you that you’re crazy.”

DID THE FACT THAT IT WAS ONLY A ONE-LINE TRACK MAKE IT MORE FRUSTRATING TONIGHT? “Yeah. Tonight, we had a tire that was tough. The last few times that we’ve come here we had great races. This time back to Iowa the tire was different and it changed the racing a bit. Goodyear does a great job. It was just a different tire. The tire tonight made all the trucks tight and when you’re tight, you can’t pass. You can’t use the top line because it just gives out. We just have to re-think the tire that we bring here.”

Doug Randolph (crew chief, No. 29 Reese Towpower RAM)
IT WAS A BIT OF A STRUGGLE TONIGHT: “We didn’t have a very good practice yesterday and we threw a bunch of stuff at the truck. We threw a bunch of stuff at it again today in practice and again in qualifying and in for the race. We never quite figured it out. Just a credit to all our guys who worked hard all weekend to make this RAM go fast. We got a top-10 of it and we’ll take it. We’ll go back and try to work on a different package so we’ll be better prepared the next time we come back here.”

DID THE DIFFERENT TIRE CATCH GUYS OFF-GUARD THIS WEEKEND? “I think so. The tire was a lot tighter. They took some stager out and we really never compensated for it. We just never got over the hump all weekend.”
